Drama in schools is a unique opportunity for Children and Young People to participate in drama projects that can culminate in their own Theatre Production. Using a Theatre Residency approach or bespoke drama workshops, Little Big Butterfly deliver a project where weekly drama workshops lay the foundations to a group of children/students to write, perform and direct their own play.
Our Drama projects are delivered collaboratively with our writer in residence Ishy Din who is an award winning local playwright who's plays and television shorts include writing for Channel 4 and the BBC.
The Children and Young People have the opportunity to explore issues important to them and their environment and are guided through the script writing process which support both their self esteem, confidence and literacy development.
As part of the rehearsal and production elements of the project, Little Big Butterfly introduces the participants to work alongside industry professionals from sound and lighting, directing and acting backgrounds.
